or 7 tips on how to improve your sleep quality.

How do you imagine an ideal sleeping environment? Could it be something soft, nice, slightly cool, quiet, dark, maybe floating instead…?

In many cases, however, the sleeping environment is something of the opposite. People watch TV or work in bed. Few of us make the bedroom a pleasant, peaceful environment where you can rest and recover.

In this post, I offer 7 tips that will help you create a more pleasant sleeping environment. Is there something here that you haven’t implemented yet?

  1. Remove all electronic devices from the bedroom! All of them! Leave tablets, phones, TVs, computers, etc. in another room. Looking at a screen before going to bed reduces the quality of sleep and can interfere with falling asleep. Let the bedroom be just for resting!
  2. The second bulletpoint refers to the first, but definitely needs repeating – don’t take your phone into the bedroom!Cell phone radiation is dangerous and we should stay away from it for at least 8 hours a day. Many say, “But I use it as an alarm clock.” In this case, I recommend getting yourself a special alarm clock or keeping your phone in another room. For me, the last option is the best: in the morning, when I hear the alarm clock, it makes me get out of bed and run to another room. Perfect for getting out of bed!
  3. Use thick curtains and turn off the lights! Of course, the bedroom lamp does not have to be moved to another room, but it should be turned off while sleeping. Any excessive light has a bad effect on the quality of sleep. The best option would be to choose as dark or thick a curtain as possible in front of the window. Trust me, the darker the room, the deeper the sleep!
  4. The bedroom could be a little cooler. A cooler room helps you stay in a deeper sleep phase longer and improves sleep quality. For this, you can, for example, turn off the radiator before going to bed.
  5. Open the bedroom window for a few minutes before going to bed! Fresh air helps to fall asleep more easily and improves sleep quality. Ventilation also helps bring cooler air into the room as mentioned previously. Unfortunately, this only applies if the temperature is still cooler outside.
  6. Decorate your bedroom with beautiful green plants, which does not need much light. Green plants help create a more pleasant environment in the bedroom and also improve air quality.
  7. Sleep on a quality mattress! Different mattresses are suitable for each person, and therefore it is difficult to say which one you should choose. The general rule is that the mattress should not be too soft, but at the same time it should be comfortable and conducive to good sleep.
